Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to the questions users ask most often about data, privacy, and billing.
Data & privacy
Does X-Power Plus upload my browsing data anywhere?
No, not by default. Tabs, bookmarks, tags, visit history, snapshots, and Spaces are all stored locally on your device. The only feature that sends anything off-device is Google Drive cloud backup, and that only happens if you explicitly connect your Google account and turn it on — it writes only to a private, app-only folder in your own Drive.
What happens to my data if I uninstall the extension?
Local data stored by the extension is removed along with it, the same as any Chrome extension. If you've taken a local backup or have cloud backups in your Drive, you can restore everything after reinstalling. Your actual Chrome bookmarks are untouched either way — those belong to Chrome, not the extension.
I have tens of thousands of bookmarks. Will the extension slow down?
The bookmark and tab lists are built to handle large collections without loading everything into memory at once. If you notice slowdowns with an especially large library, the Flat view with a search filter applied is typically the fastest way to work, rather than expanding a very large Tree view all at once.
Does Privacy Mode hide data from the extension itself, or just from my screen?
Just your screen. Privacy Mode masks what's rendered in Current Tabs, History, and the Efficiency Dashboard — it doesn't filter, delete, or exclude anything from the underlying data. Turning it off shows everything again immediately.
My Free-plan History view only shows 90 days. Is the older data gone?
No. Everything is still recorded and retained on your device regardless of plan — the 90-day window only limits what's shown on Free. A Pro license or the trial unlocks viewing the full archive immediately, with nothing to re-import.
Billing & licensing
How does the 30-day trial work?
Every user — including anyone updating from an earlier version of the extension — gets a 30-day trial with every feature unlocked, no purchase required upfront. After 30 days it drops to the Free plan automatically unless you've bought a license. See Pricing, Trial & License Activation.
Can I use one license on more than one computer?
Yes, up to a device cap shown on the License & Upgrade card in Settings. You can deactivate a device you no longer use to free up a slot for a new one.
My internet was down for a while — did I lose Pro access?
No. License checks that fail — due to a network problem, for instance — put you into a 14-day grace period where Pro features keep working while the issue resolves, rather than dropping you to Free immediately.
If my subscription lapses or I stop paying, do I lose any data?
No. Downgrading to Free changes what's visible or what runs automatically (see the full downgrade behavior) — it never deletes bookmarks, tags, history, snapshots, or anything else you've created.
How do I get a refund, or recover a lost license key?
Purchases are processed by Paddle; your purchase confirmation email is the fastest way to find refund and receipt options. If you've lost your license key or need help either way, use Settings → About → Feedback, which links to the support channel.
