What is free, what is Pro, how the 30-day trial works, and how to activate and manage a license.
Free vs. Pro — the complete list
X-Power Plus gates exactly five things behind Pro. Nothing else in this manual requires a paid license — everything covered in Parts 1–3 that isn't in the table below works fully on the Free plan.

The 30-day trial
Every user gets a 30-day trial with the full feature set unlocked, including anyone already using an earlier version of the extension who updates into this one — there's no separate "legacy user" carve-out. Once the trial ends, the extension drops to the Free plan automatically unless you've purchased a license by then.

Two ways to buy, both handled through Paddle as the payment processor:
Pricing isn't hardcoded into the extension itself — the checkout page is always the authoritative, current price.
Activating a license
Open Settings → the License & Upgrade card. Enter your license key — format XPP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX — and the card updates to show:
- Current state: Trial, Free, Pro, or Grace Period.
- Days remaining, if you're on the trial.
- License type (Lifetime or Yearly subscription) and, for subscriptions, the current billing period's end date.
- A list of devices this license is activated on, up to a device cap, each with a "Deactivate here" / unbind option — so you can free up a slot when you retire an old machine.
Grace period
Pro licenses re-verify periodically in the background. If that check fails repeatedly — a network hiccup, a brief backend outage — the extension doesn't drop you to Free immediately. It stays on Pro for a 14-day grace period, giving a temporary connectivity problem time to resolve itself without interrupting a paying customer.
What happens if your license lapses
Whether from a subscription ending, a refund, or the trial simply running out, downgrading to Free is designed to lose access, not data:
- Automatic cloud backups stop running; every backup already in your Drive stays there and stays restorable.
- The History view shrinks back to the last 90 days — nothing older is deleted, it's just not shown until you're back on Pro.
- Recycle Bin retention shrinks to 7 days for newly deleted items only; anything already in the bin keeps the retention window it had when it was deleted.
- Dead-link checks truncate to 200 items per run, and any scheduled automatic check is cleared.
- Syntax search prefixes show the upgrade hint again instead of running.
None of the above deletes anything you've created — it only changes what's visible or what runs automatically until you're on Pro again.
